Abstract Wind energy is an effective and promising renewable source to produce electrical energy. conversion systems (WECS) have been developing on a wide scale worldwide. The expansion of wind demand tends high-quality output power in terms grid integration. Due the intermittent nature energy, great challenges are found regarding WECS modeling, control, This paper introduces comprehensive review their grid-interface based soft computing methods. To achieve this aim, more than 300 articles organised only 160 papers presented review. intended cover broad range topics concerning configurations WECS, generators, various topologies converters used for control Furthermore, international codes integration with electric grids, particularly frequency, factor, low voltage ride through (LVRT) capability investigated. major controller approaches generator discussed.
